The Canadian Science and Technology Historical Association / Association pour l\'92histoire de la science et de la technologie is pleased to announce the winners of the 2009 Student Paper Award competition. \
\
Delia Gavrus, a doctoral student at the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology at the University of Toronto, has been awarded the Royal Society of Canada Student Paper Award for her paper, \'93Envisioning Cyclopropane at the University of Toronto: From Scientific Production to Medical Technology, 1925-1940.\'94 Michelle Hoffman, also a doctoral student at the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology, won the CSTHA-AHSTC Student Paper Award for her paper, \'93Constructing School Science: Physics, Biology, and Chemistry Education in Quebec and Ontario Secondary Schools, 1884-1965.\'94 \
\
The recipients of the Royal Society of Canada Student Paper Award of $500.00, provided by the Royal Society of Canada, and the CSTHA-AHSTC Student Paper Award of $250.00 were selected by a panel of judges who evaluated presentations of papers by students attending the Association\'92s biennial conference held in Quebec City. As a means of promoting research on scientific and technical history in Canada, the Association is pleased to encourage the initiative of young scholars through its student paper awards competition. The Association extends congratulations to both Ms. Gavros and Ms. Hoffman and best wishes for further research achievements.\
